Pentakill Fashion (with Tenebrix)
With the new Pentakill album soon to come out and the sweet visuals accompanying it,
I asked all-things-metal goddess Tenebrix (twitter @dinkakay) to join me in a special Pentakill themed fashion project.
We took the new lore and the feeling of the metal-built city of forgotten gods to forge new, fashionable looks for Pentakill
based on black metal fashion and all things heavy and gritty.
Tenebrix provided incredibly detailed moodboards and I built fashion mockups for each member, trying to merge the style of each member with the visuals developed for the new Pentakill album. The result is a high-fashion metal-warriors lineup, with matching elements for that band-feel and a heavy dose of sexy war paint.
The Pentakill skins didn't give the impression that they truly Shattered the cycle of Stentorious, Cacophony, and Perpetuum.
So with the power of friendship and fashion knowledge, Fran and I redesigned their looks to match their lore.
For Karthus I took inspiration from Black Metal icons like Gaahl (Gorgoroth) and Nergal (Behemoth) while adding a "religious" flair with one of Gareth Pugh pieces from his 'Ready-to-Wear Fall 2011 collection'.

When I saw the Band being worshipped, I knew Sona had to look like a goddess. So I drew inspiration from 'Dita von Tease', 'Alexander McQueen 2010', 'Malgorzata Dudek’s “Arachne” collection'
and mixed in that spicy fear and terror of the “Weeping Woman”.
Kayle was inspired by Valkyries, and I really wanted to keep that about her... BUT to spice it up, I decided to draw inspiration from 'Fausto Puglisi 2017', ‘Moschino 2018'
and Taylor Momsen (The Pretty Reckless) for her iconic "Angel gone bad" look.
Yorick being a Monk who's also a metal head, reminded me of Kenichi (NINGEN ISU) and Jaya (THE HU), with their traditional attire. I made his look heavier by mixing 'Damir Doma 2010' and 'Isaac Sellam 2020',
while adding some of Nergal’s and Orion’s (Behemoth) Black Metal looks.
Mordekaiser is dangerous, dominant, and unpredictable. Which is why his look was inspired by Berserkers, and the BDSM/Motorcycle cultures. So by mixing ‘Dainese' protective gear, thick leather harnesses, and iconic battle dreadlocks
we got ourselves a perfect fashion beast.
Yes, he’s a Viking. Yes, he’s an angry warrior... BUT he can also rock 'Bottega 2013' and 'Margiela 2013', which is exactly what I did. Ofc' him being Morde’s bestie (aka: drinking buddy)
